REMIX PLASTICS POROPORO EARRINGS RP065

Inspired by the striking Poroporo flower — also known as New Zealand nightshade or kangaroo apple — these earrings celebrate one of Aotearoa’s most intriguing native plants. Poroporo features vibrant purple, star-like flowers and berry-shaped fruit. While the green, unripe berries and leaves are poisonous, the ripe orange fruit was traditionally used in Māori medicine for its naturally occurring steroid compounds.

These earrings honour both the beauty and the fascinating dual nature of the Poroporo plant. Wear them as a bold, symbolic connection to our native flora — a blend of elegance, history, and just a touch of danger.

Crafted with sustainability in mind, each pair is laser cut from 3D printer waste sourced from Tūranga Library. A very limited-edition style includes green glass beads to represent the berries — note that this version is slightly smaller than the standard design.
